Compare Bithumb’s USD-equivalent prices with Coinbase’s US dollar spot quotes. See the kimchi premium, Bitcoin market dominance and Alternative.me’s daily Bitcoin Fear & Greed Index in one place.
A quoted premium is a price comparison, not a guaranteed arbitrage profit. Check quote times, fees, supported networks and transfer restrictions before making any transfer.

How the kimchi premium is calculated
Premium (%) = [Bithumb USD-equivalent price ÷ Coinbase USD price − 1] × 100. A positive result means Bithumb’s quote is higher; a negative result is a discount, sometimes called a reverse premium.
For example, assume a Coinbase price of USD 100,000 and a Bithumb price equivalent to USD 102,000 after currency conversion. The result is a +2% premium. These are hypothetical figures, not current quotes.
Sources and observation times
- Prices: Bithumb ticker converted to USD and Coinbase USD spot price for the same asset. The table uses Coinbase as its comparison venue, not a worldwide average.
- Exchange rate: ExchangeRate-API. The first successfully retrieved reference rate in this page session converts Bithumb quotes to USD; reload to request a fresh reference rate.
- BTC dominance: CoinPaprika’s global market data. Coverage and methodology may differ from other providers.
- Bitcoin sentiment: Alternative.me’s Bitcoin Fear & Greed Index, a daily observation on a 0–100 scale. It is not a real-time sentiment measure for every coin.
Market prices are polled while the page is open, but source timestamps can differ. The market retrieval timestamp and the sentiment observation timestamp are separate and displayed in U.S. Eastern Time (EST/EDT). A missing quote displays a dash; an update warning means a previous value may remain visible.
Why the displayed gap is not a trading return
The percentage excludes trading fees, withdrawal fees, bid–ask spreads, slippage, transfer time and changes in price or FX. Deposit support, account verification and exchange reviews can delay or prevent transfers. A larger quoted gap does not ensure that both trades can be executed at those prices.
For PAXG, the comparison concerns the gold-linked token. It is not a comparison of physical gold prices in Korea. A USDT premium can also reflect the token’s USD quote and local market conditions rather than only the conventional dollar exchange rate.
Frequently asked questions
Why does another dashboard show a different premium?
Different exchanges, FX sources, bid/ask or spot quotes and retrieval times produce different comparisons. Match the asset, venues, quote type and time before comparing percentages.
Does extreme fear mean I should buy?
No. Fear and greed classifications describe the provider’s sentiment reading. They do not determine fair value, forecast returns or replace risk management.
What should I verify before moving assets?
Check that both exchanges support the same asset and network, confirm any required tag or memo, and compare the entire destination address against the trusted deposit screen. Do not rely only on the first and last characters. Review account eligibility, deposit/withdrawal status and receiving-exchange verification requirements.
